The Mountain Blend Coffee Story

Coffee that supports the Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team

To celebrate the 60th anniversay of the incredible Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team, we are proud to donate 10% of all proceeds from each purchase of The Mountain Blend to these dedicated volunteers. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, in all weather conditions, the Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team provides crucial assistance to those in need across the North York Moors, Dalby Forest, Yorkshire Wolds, and beyond. Comprised of fifty highly skilled individuals, including doctors, paramedics, and experienced climbers and hillwalkers, they rely entirely on donations and sponsorship to continue their life-saving work. By choosing The Mountain Blend, you're not just enjoying exceptional coffee; you're directly contributing to the safety and well-being of our local community.

This exceptional blend brings together the unique characteristics of two distinct single-origin coffees:

Honduras Aruco

Sourced through Aruco's micro-lot program, this represents the collective efforts of 34 dedicated producers in the Copán region. The natural processing at the Aruco mill, situated at a lower altitude for optimal drying conditions, results in a coffee with rich sweetness and delightful fruit and chocolate undertones. The Aruco Cooperative's commitment to fair prices and sustainable practices ensures a positive impact on the local community.

Silvio Carlos Ferreira

Cultivated by Silvio Carlos at the small-scale Angola Farm, this coffee showcases a dedication to sustainable, agroecological farming. The natural process highlights the inherent sweetness and delicate fruit and biscuit notes of the Yellow Catuai and Arara varietals, contributing a balanced and lighter element to the blend.

The Mountain Blend draws the best characteristics from each origin. Expect a delightful interplay of plum raisin and nectarine sweetness, complemented by comforting notes of toffee and fig, with a smooth dark chocolate and subtle butter biscuit finish. The balanced body and nuanced flavour profile make it a wonderful coffee to enjoy throughout the day.
