The Guatemala El Cabro Coffee Story
Brew Bar Head Chef Carlos hails from Guatemala and we've been promising him since May that we would source a Guatemalan coffee. Finally, here it is, and we picked something really good too. This is an RFA certified producer and although this is a washed coffee, it's still fermented which unlocks a deliciously fruity and complex cup!
This particular lot, known as "El Cabro" comes from a special plot on the celebrated Finca La Bolsa. Established in 1958 by the distinguished medical professional Jorge Vides, La Bolsa has a long history of excellence, including placing second in the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition in 2002. Situated between two mountains, the farm benefits from a stable, humid microclimate and limestone-rich soils, which imbue the coffee with a unique profile, featuring a rich, syrupy body and bright acidity.
